Working Together

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 "There are varieties of gifts, but the Spirit is the same in all; there are varieties of service, but the Lord to be served is the same; there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who does all things by putting energy in us all.  To each of us is given a special illumination for the common good."

We are blessed to be able to work with many different ministries in the US, Mexico, and all over the world.  By pooling our resources and speciality areas, we are all able to better meet the Lord's goals without duplicating each others work.  Here are just some of the other ministries we work and share the load with.  If you are interested in helping or getting information on any of these ministries, please just send us an e-mail.

Photos are coming for the rest of the ministries soon!

BIG HEART ORPHANAGE

This orphanage is run by Gator and Deanna Carter, whom we have worked with since it started 6 years ago.  We started holding clinics in their boys dormitory, then moved across the street.  We treat all the children & staff at the clinic and provide them with vitamins and medications. They built all the shelves for the pharmacy, the walls in the doctors area, and the bars on the clinic windows.  We take them food at times and they cook for us and allow our groups to stay at the orphanage in beautiful dorms. When I run out of anything in Mexico, they are always ready to lend a helping hand. Pray for them!

CASA DE DIOS MISSION

This is a church we helped start with Andrew and Pastor Guadalupe. They have services every week and have grown to about 12 adults and 35 children who attend regularly, and another 50+ who attend for special events.  They are in need of a roof over their meeting area, so if you feel lead to help with the money or labor for this let us know. We started out with the tent below, but the wind is very destructive here.

Below are pictures of the Christmas program at the mission - this is where the roof would be put up. We have supplied them with lessons, bibles, benches, food, a guitar, tamborines, holiday gifts, and would love to get them a roof up in 2008.

NEWS FLASH! We have just gotten the news that this group is not going to be able to meet in this lot in the future....please join with us in praying for other accomodations to meet in or a lot we can buy and the money to buy it.  If you would like to help with this need, please see the donations link. BENITO JUAREZ ORPHANAGE

The first clinic started here in 1999. In the beginning, we only treated the children and staff of the orphanage, but later opened the clinic to families and area residents. This was one of the clinics that was joined with Victoria Clinic a few years ago, however we continue to treat them when needed, supply them with vitamins and medications, and Christmas gifts. Wow, have these kids grown in the past 8+ years!

WAY OF THE CROSS

Located in Harlingen, TX, Ben Butler, Martha (nurse), Dr. Yoder, and all their staff have been a great blessing to us over the past 10 years.  We have shared lots of medicine, medical supplies, and ministry ideas. I have assisted them with the Medfest in Aldama the last two years.  We have also gotten lots of food donations from them for the feeding programs.

LAREDO STEPPING STONE

Located in Laredo, TX, this missionary facilitation organization, run by Rick Hall and his family have blessed us over the years with lots of juices, beans, rice, canned goods, and other drinks for the feeding programs & orphanages.  We in turn, provide them with the medical supplies for the ministry and the missionaries they serve.

GUATEMALA

We were blessed to have a visit from Mark and Lucy Schaff, our Guatemala missionary family, in November of 2008. We love them dearly and praise God for their ministry in the jungles and cities of Guatemala for over 20 years. Mark was very instrumental in our becoming missionaries and his loving support has meant so much to us over the years.

SONGS FOR 2008 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

For the Christmas programs in Mexico, Kathleen wrote 2 new songs, then Joshua's dad (Juan Diaz on the right) and his recording friend, JP, did the music and the recording for us.  It was a blessing to be working together again after so many years. We pray God blesses them  both with a new and better relationship with Him. Nov 2008.

MANOS EXTENDIDAS

This San Juan, TX warehouse ministers to the Spanish speaking poor in Texas.  They recieve donations of furniture, household items, appliances, clothing, food, carpeting, etc and distribute it to needy families.  These families must come to the weekly bible study class on Wednesday to sign up to recieve goodies, then Debbie and Ole do a home visit to assess their needs and pray for the items to meet them.  Kathleen teaches here about twice a month in Spanish. Below: Kathleen teaching and praying with attendees for salvation. Praise the Lord!

VICTORIA SEWING SCHOOL

This school was started by Edgar and Phyllis Stone in the building across from the clinic. The students must attend one class a week for a whole year & make one of all of the pictured items to graduate.  There are currently 3 different classes held each week, with a total of about 25 students.  On graduation each student recieves a sewing machine, material, and a sewing supplies kit(scissors, thread, tape measure, lace, buttons, elastic, etc).  If you have any of these items to donate, please let us know.

Above: Lupita, the sewing teacher, standing in front of the wall of accomplishments....each student must complete all of these items (including making their own patterns) in order to graduate. Below: A student at work.

VICTORIA CHILDRENS CLASSES

These classes are held every Saturday afternoon in the chapel next to the clinic.  We enjoy their singing and the smiling faces of all the children as we see our patients. We have supplied them with lessons, food & snacks, Christmas gifts every year, and medical treatment.

KINGDOM RESOURCES

Located in San Antonio, TX, Steve & Carla Sholin and their staff have donated medical supplies and food for the feeding programs and orphanages over the last 3 years. We sure appreciate them and their ministry.
